Community assessment
We consult villagers, identify their water needs and choose sites together.

Our WASH programme brings safe, year-round drinking water to water-deficient villages through community bore wells, built with the people who will use them.
In the remote valleys of District Shigar, Gilgit-Baltistan, getting clean drinking water is a daily struggle. Mountainous terrain, scattered settlements, seasonal shortages and a changing climate mean many families rely on unsafe or unreliable sources. Women and children often spend hours each day fetching water — time taken from school, work and rest — and unsafe water puts their health at risk.

We consult villagers, identify their water needs and choose sites together.
We drill the bore and install the infrastructure and water supply system.
We test every source to confirm it is safe for household use.
Villagers take part from the start and share responsibility for looking after the water point.
We make monitoring visits and provide technical help where needed.

Funded by individual sponsors, we have completed bore wells in seven villages. These projects have made safe water easier to reach — and they show that community-led water solutions work in remote mountain settings.
Funding is the only thing holding these projects back.

One bore well costs about PKR 900,000–1,000,000 for development and installation (excluding diesel and staffing costs). That single contribution can give a whole village clean water, better health and more time for children's education and women's livelihoods. You can fund one well, several villages, or help expand the programme.
Partner with us — together, we can bring safe water closer to every home in the mountains of Baltistan.
